Kansas City, MO – Natasha Ria El-Scari's poetry has been described as "wicked and raw, soft and gritty." She has performed her work at a variety of local venues, and has opened for renowned poet Saul Williams, and professor-activist Angela Davis. In her new CD, This is Love, El-Scari explores different aspects of love, from the romantic to the sensual to the spiritual.

El-Scari stopped by the studio to talk with KCUR's Susan Wilson about her work.

Natasha Ria El-Scari's new CD This is Love will be released May 1, 2010 at a special reading and musical performance, including several other poets and musicians, at the Center for Spiritual Living. She is also reading at the Writer's Place Riverfront Series on May 14, 2010.
