JEFFERSON CITY – A gavel will rap lawmakers into order this morning at Missouri's statehouse, where Governor Bob Holden has called them back for a second special session. The democratic Governor wants the legislature to close two corporate tax loopholes he says will provide an extra $40 million for education. The republican-controlled legislature has twice rejected that plan because leaders say it could hurt business. Now the legislature may be poised to override two of Governor Holden's vetoes one on an abortion waiting period and another on public permits for concealed weapons.
