Performance artist Laurie Anderson is considered one of the best interpreters of our time. Anderson's latest work, HOMELAND, responds to a post 9-11 world, tackling issues of consumer culture, loss of freedom with increased security, and the impact of war on our sense of place. Kansas City, MO – Laurie Anderson talks about the inspirations behind HOMELAND Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm at the Spencer Museum of Art on the KU campus in Lawrence. Anderson's Homeland will be presented Friday night at 7:30 at the Lied Center in Lawrence.
