  • Kansas City bars and restaurants have 60 days to go smoke free. Voters passed a smoking ban by a slim margin 52 percent to 48 percent.
  • Computer programmer and neighborhood leader Airick Leonard West won an at-large seat in Kansas City Missouri's school board in yesterday's election.
  • Kansans working across the stateline could be getting a tax break but more paperwork. The Missouri Senate voted to repeal a law that ended the tax break for out of state workers.
  • In their season home opener, the Kansas City Royals rolled past the New York Yankees 5-to-2. The sellout crowd got the first look at the new scoreboard the largest high definition screen in the world.
