Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius has vetoed a bill that would have authorized building two coal-fired power plants in southwest Kansas. She also formed a new committee to study regulating emissions.
Several Johnson County law enforcement agencies are advising that if someone comes to the door and then makes excuses about their presence, call the police immediately. Police believe it is a potential burglar casing the house and checking to see if anyone is home.
A lawsuit accusing Kansas City, Missouri of reverse discrimination in its selection process for municipal court judges appears to be headed for a jury trial, according to the Daily Record, a publication for attorneys. Melissa Howard, a Clay County Prosecutor, aleges she and two other panelists were rejected because they were white.
