  • In a 5 to 2 ruling, the Missouri Supreme Court has reversed a lower court ruling that struck down last year's midwifery law. Writing for the majority, Judge Steven Limbaugh said that the Missouri State Medical Association and other such groups do not have the standing to challenge the 2007 midwifery law.
  • The Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners has honored four officers for their role in the April, 2007 shoot-out at the Ward Parkway Shopping Center that killed two shoppers and injured several more. The shooter, David Logsdon, was killed at the scene.
  • The Kansas City Convention and Visitors' Bureau says Wal-Mart will no longer hold its national meeting in Kansas City. The reason the company cites is not enough hotel room near the convention center.
