KCUR Arts Roundup Friday May 7

This week, a play is brought back to life after fifty years; a free film series celebrates black filmmakers in the early 20th century; and the Kansas City ballet uses African dance and rhythms.

Kansas City, MO – The Missouri Repertory Theatre, brings back Lilliom from Budapest, a play that hasn?t run in fifty years. Loey Lockerby organizes free film screenings at West Wyandotte Public Library and the first film series celebrates early African-American cinema. Also, the Kansas City Ballet dances Lambarena this weekend as part of their spring program. The dance combines Bach and African rhythms.
