The Kansas City Chiefs officially introduced their new starting quarterback, Alex Smith, on Wednesday. But the Chiefs also stirred up some memories with the signing of Chase Daniel as their back-up quarterback. Chase Daniel led the Missouri Tigers to some of their most glorious moments in school history before he caught on with the New Orleans Saints in the NFL. After four seasons with the Saints, Daniel says he's happy to have the chance to play at Arrowhead Stadium again.

"You know I played college football here and I'm really familiar with the Kansas City area," said Daniel. "I'm familiar with the fan base.  I'm familiar with the barbeque. That's something on another level as well."

Meanwhile, last year's starting quarterback for the Chiefs, Matt Cassel, remains on the team roster.

Update 9:57 am: The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas City Chiefs have released former starting quarterback Matt Cassel. Read more here.
