Local Holocaust survivors talk about and read from a newly-published collection of essays.

Kansas City, MO – The Memory Book is a newly-published collection of essays by Jewish Holocaust survivors recalling their experiences during the war years. It was a project that originally started at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. and a local version was organized by the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education in Overland Park. The final published collection is the result of four years of monthly writing sessions.
Four of the ten participants recently came by KCUR and they were joined by the writing instructor for the project, Catherine Morris. Ms. Morris, who is a writing instructor at UMKC, explained what the writing sessions were like.
The Memory Book is available from the
Midwest Center for Holocaust Education in Overland Park.
