Grow Your Own Food

Michelle Obama's doing it, and maybe you've thought about doing it, too. Growing food at home is a trend that's getting more and more attention. Some people do it for recreation, some to save money and some for home-grown, seasonal nutrition. By The Walt Bodine Show, April 13, 2009

Kansas City , Mo. – A conversation on area resources that make it easy to grow your own food and tips on arranging your vegetable garden to ensure high quality produce throughout the harvest. We also touch on reasons for the trend, and how it's affecting the way people in our area eat and shop for food.

Guests:
-Katherine Kelly, Executive Director and Farmer with Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture

-Matt Bunch, Horticulturist at Powell Gardens
