Funding for the Arts Update

Funding for state arts agencies historically has been tied to the health of the state's finances. And with the expected slowing of revenue growth, the housing crisis, and anticipated shortfalls, arts advocates are bracing for potential cuts.By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – The Mid-America Arts Alliance hosted a two-day regional meeting this week in Kansas City for six state arts agencies. Featured speaker Jay H. Dick, the director of State and Local Government Affairs for Americans for the Arts in Washington, DC, told KCUR's Laura Spencer he's optimistic about funding for the arts across the country.
