Flock of Dodos
By Laura Ziegler
Kansas City, MO – Shawnee Mission native Randy Olsen left K.U. to do graduate work in Marine Biology at Harvard in the 1980's. Deep-sea diving in the Caribbean and South Pacific, he studied some of nature's most complicated ecologies.
As a tenured professor at the University of New Hampshire, he became concerned that scientists weren't communicating what they knew very well and he decided to go to film school.
Many of his short science films are now used in classrooms nationwide.
His first feature film premiered recently in Kansas City. Flock of Dodos is about the debate between evolutionists and those who believe in Intelligent Design . Randy Olsen spoke with Laura Ziegler.
