Kansas City, Mo. – A pre-dawn rape today would be the fifth committed by the same man in the center part of Kansas City. Police believe it's the attacker who struck four times within four months.

From what police will reveal, this new scenario was similar to the others around the Waldo district since late September, 2009. Twice the attacker came in through an unlocked door or window, once a sliding patio door.

Captain Rich Lockhart says the rapist is methodical, knows the women live alone and is very bold. In his words, "with that in mind, we know this person has spent a lot of time in a neighborhood. And so somebody has to have seen this guy either walking around a neighborhood, driving around the neighborhood."

Today's attack was along heavily traveled Oak Street near 69th Terrace. A composite drawing of the suspected rapist has been posted in stores for many blocks of the Waldo area. Lockhart says there have been a few calls from informants who say they can identify the man, but none has borne fruit.
