Ex-Career College Admin To Prison

Kansas City, Mo. – A former director of a Kansas City's college has been ordered to pay more than a third of a million dollars restitution and spend a year in federal prison without chance of parole.

It was a plea of guilt to conspiracy to fraudulently take federal student grants and loans for ineligible students at Vatterott College in 2005 and 2006.

Kevil Earl Woods of Louisville, Ken., is liable for $362,000. Woods and two codefendants admitted enrolling students whom they knew didn't qualify for loans, some without a high school diploma, some directed to list fictional dependents in an attempt to increase financial aid.

Woods' job at Vatterott in Kansas City included approval of all future student enrollment agreements. Dominic L. Campbell and Dale Marbell have already been sentenced for their roles in the fraud.
