Kansas City, MO – Emergency rooms are busy year round. But they can become even more strained during flu season. That was true this year in Kansas City, when ER patient admissions rose between 20 and 25 percent in February and March. The emergency rooms are still dealing with a high volume of patients, but hospitals are starting to assess how they've managed the influx and how well they're prepared for future emergencies.
