Deciding What To Wear To Work

J. Crew

The unwritten rules of how to dress for different occasions can create ambiguous boundaries that are often difficult to navigate.

What does "business casual" actually mean? Would flip-flops ever be fashionable at a wedding?

On Tuesday's Central Standard, we investigate how to decipher different dress codes, and discuss how we communicate with our clothing.

Guests:

  • Elizabeth Briody, corporate anthropolgist and founder of Cultural Keys.
  • Ken Petti, brand developer in Kansas City.

People don't make cameos in news stories; the human story is the story, with characters affected by news events, not defined by them. As a columnist and podcaster, I want to acknowledge what it feels like to live through this time in Kansas City, one vantage point at a time. Together, these weekly vignettes form a collage of daily life in Kansas City as it changes in some ways, and stubbornly resists change in others.
