Constructing A Remarkable Relationship

When a couple is together for the long haul, sometimes a set of guidelines helps keep the harmony in the matrimony.

On Monday's Up to Date, psychologist Harriet Lerner returns to give us her seven steps to creating a remarkable relationship.

Harriet Lerner's books have been published in more than thirty foreign editions with book sales of over three million. Her “Dance” books include The Dance of Anger, The Dance of Intimacy, The Dance of Deception, The Mother Dance and The Dance of Connection. Her most recent books is Marriage Rules: A Manual for the Married and the Coupled Up. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she majored in psychology and Indian studies. Lerner received an M.A. in educational psychology from Teachers' College of Columbia University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the City University of New York.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
