The news of popular uprising in Iran may spark memories of uprisings past.
For many of us, our frame of reference comes not from standing in a public square with demonstration sign in hand, but from watching a movie or reading a book that portrays dramatic political events in lifelike detail.
Our guests discuss how various artistic groups have influenced, responded to and taken inspiration from revolutionary movements.
We also explore whether these creations serve as a cultural diary of major events that have changed the course of history.
