For more than three decades, Anna Quindlen has made her mark on American journalism, commentary and letters.
In the 1980s and 90s, Quindlen was a regular op-ed columnist for The New York Times, one of the first women to be featured on those pages and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for her "Public and Private" column.
For another decade, beginning in 2000, her "Last Word" column ran on the back page of Newsweek, where she continues to offer occasional commentary on news, culture, and life. A new generation knows Quindlen for her nonfiction books, including A Short Guide to a Happy Life, and her six novels, including One True Thing and Rise and Shine, all of which have been best-sellers.
