| Greetings from our Online International Listeners |
Hola from El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain
One of the first things I did after getting internet in Spain was to tune-in to my KCUR stream in iTunes. I keep up with American news by listening to Morning Edition during the Spanish lunch time / siesta. Plus, I get to hear Michael Byars wish me a good morning and Maria Carter read me the news... what more could you ask for!?

Greetings from Ramla, Israel I visited the
greater Kansas City area in November 2006 as a guest of the Jewish Federation and a recipient of the Dan Fingersh Young Leadership
Award. I am a volunteer in the Young
Leadership Forum (YLF) of the "Partnership
2000" program partnering the greater Kansas City area with the
city of Ramla and the Gezer Local Council in Israel. Listening regularly to KCUR
89.3 FM internet broadcasts at home and at work is my way to be close to the
people and places I fell in love with in that short visit.

Greetings from Manassas, VA I currently live in Manassas, VA. I became addicted to Morning Edition on KCUR during the 16 years we lived in Independence, MO. As far as why I listen to KCUR online instead of DC's WAMU and otehr NPR stations: 1. I miss Walt Bodine's familiar, friendly voice. 2. Time zone difference: often I don't get around to listening to NPR until 10 a.m. or so, by which time Morning Edition has signed off for the day, but it's still on in KC. 3. WAMU is mostly local DC shows - all politics and quite boring and depressing after a while. 4. No local NPR station broadcasts Talk of the Nation, while KCUR does. 5. KCUR keeps me Up-to-Date on what is going on in Missouri, my home for over 40 years.
The only downside in listening to KCUR is that when the weather is forecast I sometimes forget I'm listening to a Kansas City station. I've prepared for rain when I didn't need too and dressed for the wrong temperature on too many days.

Greetings from Las Vegas My wife and I lived in K.C. from 1973-1980,
and miss the city very much. Especially like to hear that Walt Bodine is still
going strong. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Greetings from near Canada I am listening in Mount Vernon, Washington. We are about 80 miles from
Canada so it is almost international.
We moved from KC 2 years ago and there is no NPR station here to compare with
KCUR. I just have to observe the time difference or I will miss my favorite
shows.

I am currently listening to Fish Fry, I enjoy it immensely; 10 out of 10.This is the second show I've heard - the first was last week. I discovered it as I worked my way through the "Eclectic" programs listed on PublicRadioFan.com. Because of the time difference, it is now 13:00 on Sunday. I enjoy Fish Fry because of the breadth and depth of the playlist, and the interviews. KCUR is a reliable 128K stream.
More power to NPR!
thank you,

..from Villefontaine, France Bonjour !!! En tant qu'auditrice par le web je me permets de vous demander s'il est possible d'obtenir des autocollants de votre radio. Merci d'avance,

Greetings from Manitoba I'm a Canadian listener of your station from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I like a lot of NPR shows. I listen to your station in particular because you offer a very high-quality internet stream(128k/secmp3) compared to most other NPR stations. You are also in the same time-zone as my home city here in Winnipeg (I'm almost directly north of Kansas City in Central Canada) so your station is very convienient since I don't have to figure out any schedule changes when you mention the times of upcoming shows.

Greetings from Israel "My name is Izi Mann and I am working in Voice of Israel (Israeli Radio) in Jerusalem as a presenter and producer of radio shows. I present and produce news and music shows in the News Channel, in which I also feature interesting and useful sites on the web - many of them of radio and TV stations. I was among the first in Israel to present KCUR 89.3 FM and since learning about your professional work I keep forwarding many-many journalists, colleagues, listeners and students from all over the world, with whom I keep in touch and have professional contacts, to see your excellent work - and to spread the word (of course, the good word!) - and to listen to your professional work. For me it is always a miracle that here, far away from the range of your antennas and "classic" local market, I can be a part of your community and feel so close to the professional work your team is doing there."
Good morning from Florida I've been a resident of Largo, FL the past four years, formerly living in the K.C. area for 35 years. I still "summerbird" up there May to October.
This is the first time I've tried listening live on computer, so I hope to catch my favorite, The Walt Bodine Show.

Another good morning from Florida
I live in Ormond Beach, Fla.
I lived in Kansas City, Mo., from 1989-2000 ... and I've traveled throughout a good portion of the country ... so I know KCUR is the best public radio station in the country.

Greetings from Norway via Liberty, MO I spent 3 months this summer in Alesund, Norway, and listened daily to KCUR while I painted in my studio. It was wonderful to hear local news and get all the great NPR programs in English!

Greetings from Ukraine As I write this, I'm streaming Night Tides from your archives. Introducing her second hour on her Nov 5th show, Renee invited those of us who listen from far away to write and say from where and why we listen.
Well, I'm an expatriate American working in Kyiv, Ukraine for about a year. My home has been in Leavenworth for about 16 years, and I am a passionate KCUR listener and sometime member. When I was home I woke every morning to Morning Edition. Sunday nights, I drifted asleep ? carried by Night Tides. So, here I am. The hours of the day are different, but I still try to make KCUR a part of my life. Night Tides no longer is my lullaby, it is background music to stir creative juices when my chores compel me to read or write. Morning Edition is my lifeline to local and national news. KCUR in the morning also tells me what kind of weather my family will enjoy ? or not ? in the greater KC area.
Although KCUR has taken up a different part of my life, more than ever, it continues to add richness to my work-a-day routine..

Greetings from San Luis Obispo Not exactly international but in the other world of California - Central Coast - San Luis Obispo
I was in KC for several years and got really hooked on KCUR. Our NPR station here isn't as good as KCUR - and you've got the late morning and early afternoon programs at a better listening time.
Yes, I made a contribution.

It's not the "where" but the "how" I live in Fairway, but you might be interested in how I listen to KCUR. I use my Sprint smartphone to pull up the KCUR audio page and then listen to the Windows Media stream on my headset while walking. I've been doing that for several months and rarely have any technical problems. Tim Kridel

Greetings from Illinois!I'm not quite an international listener. I'm from Kansas City and commute back and forth from the University of Illinois where I have been pursuing a PhD in political science since August. I also work part-time at the Kauffman Foundation -- just across the street from KCUR. I come back home every couple of weeks for 3-4 days to spend time at the Foundation and with my family in Kansas City. I listen to KCUR every day over the web on my Macbook laptop. Although there is a local NPR station, it doesn't have the same level and quality of programming I've come to rely on from KCUR. Moreover, KCUR helps me stay connected with Kansas City, keeps me up to date on local issues, and provides a much-needed sense of home while I'm here in Illinois.
Thank you!

Greetings from Treforest, Wales!
Hello, I am from Blue Springs and I am currently enrolled at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. I am studying in Wales in the UK this year on an exchange program, and I listen to all of my favorite shows, including 'Up to Date' and 'Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me' at my computer. I enjoy hearing the familiar voices among the variety of accents and languages that I hear at my university. I have been listening to KCUR since I was a child when my father would listen in the car. It is now one of the few stations that I listen to and support. Thank you for providing such an outstanding service to the community and to the world. Meg Barker Treforest, Wales
Greetings from Salem, Oregon!
A friend recommended you for workplace listening, but the great state of Oregon blocks such sites from government workers, so I am trying you on at home.
Thanks! Lissa
Hi, I'm listening in Des Moines, Iowa.. I grew up in KC, am an alum of UMKC, and am a former member of the Political Science faculty.I'm the Program Chair of Political Science at Des Moines Area Community College, and I want to say hello to all my former colleagues in Haag Hall; I know they listen diligently to KCUR to get the latest news, it is essential listening for any intellectual??I miss this station, it?s the best NPR package I?ve heard anywhere in the US; I often listen in the evenings to your online stream. I like The World, and I wouldn?t miss the Fish Fry on the weekends. I?m glad KC is only three hours down I-35, I come down to visit family and friends every month?..I still contribute to the station, as I do to the NPR affiliate up here in Iowa?..I?ll be a lifelong listener! Keep crankin? out the best news and the best blues!
Eat some (real) BBQ for me,
Bradley
I am in Shawnee, KS, at my office. Is that international? I split my NPR listening between you guys, KPR, and occasionally Radio Kansas. I listen because I like to be informed about area news, as well as the national/international topics. Primarily an aging baby boomer, prefer classical music, sometime celtic, sometimes country, rarely jazz. John Brewer
Greetings from Alabama! A fan from the day Bill Shapiro broadcast his first show.

Greetings from Washington, D.C.! I'm a Kansas City native and I stream KCUR live. Your program times are more convenient than those at the DC NPR stations, and I love to listen while I work.
Sincerely,
