KC History: Eisenhower

In his life Eisenhower lead the allied forces to victory in Europe, built the interstate system, and oversaw school integration, but what experiences built this man of action from Kansas?

Eisenhower was born in Texas, the third of seven brothers, but his most formative years were lived in Abilene, Kansas.  The experience that he had in Abilene would serve as the foundation for a man who would lead armies and a nation through some of the most perilous times in history.

Tim Rives the Deputy Director and Supervisory Archivist at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum joins our history host Monroe Dodd to discuss the particulars of these experiences and examine how Dwight rose to such heights.
